2. Directions of development of nuclear legislation
One of the trends that emerged in connection with the privatization of nuclear energypower industry was the development of standards of citizennuclear liability.The adoption of such legislation meant a revolution in the field of accountability for damages, focusing onthe responsibility of the operator of a nuclear plantbut also with a limitation of liability.The socio-economic essence of thislegislation meant an exemption from responsibility of operators of nuclear installations of electric power firms and companies.The principle of legal responsibility of operator of a nuclear installation was first formulated in by Harvard Law School (USA). The purpose of this new formulation was to promote the development of the American nuclearindustry’s export.
